UPDATE - Embargo Affecting Eagle Pass and El Paso Interchanges Cancelled

Date
Jan 5, 2024

BNSF has cancelled the embargo impacting transborder traffic at Eagle Pass and El Paso interchanges. However, shipments may be impacted by existing Ferromex (FXE) embargoes. Information on FXE embargoes and permit contacts can be found on the Railinc website

As previously communicated, BNSF issued a temporary permit embargo affecting all traffic, excluding automotive and intermodal, moving through Eagle Pass and El Paso, Texas. Automotive and intermodal shipments were managed through alternate means. All railcars that were staged in holding due to the embargo will be released for service and transborder shipping will resume normal operations.

About Embargoes:
Embargoes are temporary holds placed on freight to restrict the acceptance and handling of freight. You can search embargoes at the Association of American Railroads (AAR) Embargo Railinc website (enter "BNSF" in the Issuing Road field to view active embargoes).
